FAQs
Q. What is Law.com Quest?
Law.com Quest is a new search tool from Law.com. Our aim is to bring legal professionals relevant results from across the Law.com Network and the legal web.
Q. What does Law.com Quest search?
Law.com Quest searches the Law.com Network of sites, including the New York Law Journal, The American Lawyer, The National Law Journal, Law Firm Inc., the U.S. Supreme Court Monitor, and more publications and resources from ALM Media. Law.com Quest also brings results from hundreds of hand-picked law firm websites and prominent legal blogs, and we're adding new sites all the time. If you'd like your site to be included, let us know by visiting our Feedback page.
Q. How is Law.com Quest different from other search engines?
Law.com Quest is just like the search engines you're used to, in that you start a search on Law.com Quest by simply typing a keyword or two into the search box. The difference is that instead of returning hundreds of thousands of results that you have to page through to find what you're looking for, or requiring you to construct elaborate Boolean queries, Law.com Quest starts with an index of relevant sites and lets you filter your results by category to help you quickly zero in on the information you need.
Q. What if I get too many results?
You can filter your search by source, type, and date by selecting from the list of categories you'll find on the left side of your results page. Too few results? Simply remove one or more of the filters you applied to expand your result set.
Q. What's the difference between the Law.com Network and the Legal Web?
By Legal Web, we mean a selection of hand-picked law firm websites and legal blogs, in addition to the content from award-winning ALM publications like the New York Law Journal, Legal Times, The Legal Intelligencer, Law Technology News and Corporate Counsel.
Q. What if I have a question or a problem?
We're eager to hear your feedback and to answer any questions you have, so please let us know by visiting our Feedback page.
Q. How do I advertise on Law.com Quest?
To advertise on Law.com Quest, please go to Advertise with Us and submit your request for information. You will then receive a timely response from one of Law.com's representatives.
Q. Who picks the sites that Law.com Quest searches?
ALM Media's editors, reporters, and researchers. We also invite our audience to contribute by letting us know what sites you think we should include.
Q. Why should I use Law.com Quest and not just go to Google™?
Google™ searches the entire web returning a wide range of items that may not be relevant or from reliable sources. We believe you'll find value in our targeted list of sites specifically geared toward legal professionals, and we thank you for giving our tool a try.
Q. Will everything I find in my list of results be free to read or access?
It depends. Many results are either free to all or free to those who complete a brief registration form. Some of our premium content is only available to subscribers. On each result, you'll see an indication if the content is only available to paid subscribers. Chances are you already subscribe to one or more ALM Media publications, so we think you'll find plenty of results to help you get your work done.
